Montgomery Township woman charged with robbing bank

A 37-year-old Montgomery Township woman who allegedly robbed the TD Bank at 883 State Road during the summer is facing multiple charges, including robbery and weapons offenses, according to the Princeton Police Department.

Following an extensive investigation led by police Det. Daniel Chitren, the woman was arrested in Montgomery Township on Sept. 24. The Princeton Police Department was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The incident began when the woman, armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, entered the bank and walked up to the teller window on July 28, police said. She allegedly handed the teller a note that demanded cash.

The teller gave the woman an undetermined amount of cash. She left the bank and was observed walking south on State Road near the Exxon gas station on the corner of Cherry Valley Road, police said.

In addition to the robbery charge, the woman was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and issuing terroristic threats, police said.

Additional charges lodged against the woman include criminal restraint, theft, money laundering and aggravated assault, police said.

She was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
