Man found with handgun, 17-round capacity magazine

A 31-year-old Princeton man is facing weapons charges after he was stopped by police for a traffic violation while he was riding his bicycle on Princeton Pike, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.

The man was riding his bike with a 20-year-old male, who also lives in Princeton, at 2:34 a.m. May 31.

During the arrest process, the 31-year-old man was allegedly found to have a Ruger Model 9E handgun and a 17-round capacity magazine in his possession, police said.

The man was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon by a convicted person, possession of a large capacity magazine and failure to submit to identification procedures, police said.

The two men were both found to have outstanding warrants. They were processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
