A 32-year-old East Windsor Township man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly destroyed a memorial that had been set up by a family and for allegedly breaking a laundry room window at an apartment complex in separate incidents Oct. 13, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

The man was charged with desecration of venerated objects in the first incident and with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct in the second incident, police said.

A police officer was sent to investigate an incident in the area of Bear Brook Path and observed damage to the memorial at 12:47 p.m., police said. The man was found a short distance away and arrested. He was processed and released.

Less than two hours later at 2:14 p.m., a police officer was sent to the Princeton Arms North II apartment complex on Dorchester Drive in response to an allegedly intoxicated person who was yelling profanities and had broken a laundry room window.

Police located the man, who was the same person that had been involved in the earlier incident. He continued to act in a belligerent manner and told the police officer that he had been assaulted prior to the officer’s arrival. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

He was later charged on a complaint summons in the second incident.
