Rajneet “Pimmi” Goomer, the assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, has resigned, according to Lawrence Township Public Schools officials.
Goomer was appointed to the post in August 2022.
The Lawrence Township Public Schools Board of Education has appointed Michael Dzwonar to fill in as the interim assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. He will begin his new duties Nov. 4.
Dzwonar retired as the assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the East Windsor Regional School District. He served in that position for 15 years.
Dzwonar brings extensive experience in curriculum and instruction, said Superintendent of Schools Robyn Klim. He will help guide the district’s continued progress while school district officials search for a replacement for Goomer, she said.
“We are committed to finding a leader who will not only continue to uphold our district’s values, but also help us to build upon the educational success we have achieved together,” she said.
Klim said she will oversee the Office of Instruction until Dzwonar arrives next month. She said she will work with the leadership team and visit the schools frequently to ensure students receive the best educational experience.
“As always, our priority is the success and well-being of our students,” Klim said.
