“The Executive Women of NJ amplifies and lifts up the power of women’s contributions and service,” Valentin said. “Thank you for the recognition in this year’s Salute to the Policy Makers. I’m proud to serve the community through our philanthropy at the Princeton Area Community Foundation.”

The Princeton Area Community Foundation promotes lasting philanthropy and builds community across Mercer County and central New Jersey. Since its founding in 1991, the Community Foundation has made grants of more than $200 million. With over 450 charitable funds, in 2023, the Community Foundation awarded more than $15.5 million in grants to support the critical work of nonprofits in making the communities they serve more responsive to the needs of their residents.

“We’re proud to celebrate Nelida Valentin and the other exceptional women on this year’s list of honorees,” said M. Courtney McCormick, president of EWNJ and senior vice president of Audit, Enterprise Risk and Compliance at PSEG. “The extraordinary contributions of these trailblazers represent the power and potential of women’s leadership across sectors and underscores the critical need to address the ongoing challenges in achieving gender and racial equity in the workplace.”

“This year’s Salute to the Policy Makers honors both the extraordinary accomplishments of our honorees, as well as the collective progress we can achieve when women are empowered and supported in their leadership journeys,” added Susan K. Dromsky-Reed, EWNJ president-elect and Salute 2024 chair and member, Brach Eichler, LLC. “EWNJ remains committed to fostering inclusive leadership and ensuring that diverse voices are heard at every level of decision-making. We encourage the New Jersey business community to join us in our mission to drive meaningful change and create a more equitable future.”

EWNJ is proud to recognize Prudential Financial as this year’s Salute Corporate Champion.

The Salute to the Policy Makers Gala raises funds for all of EWNJ’s networking programs, advocacy work, and leadership and mentoring initiatives including its signature Graduate Merit Award Program, which is focused on ensuring new generations of women leaders. The EWNJ Graduate Merit Award Program is the largest provider of scholarships to women who are non-traditional graduate students at New Jersey colleges and universities. To date, the program has awarded over $1.4 million in tuition assistance.

The gala will be held at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains on Oct. 22.
