Princeton school board approves administrators’ contract

Principals, assistant principals, supervisors and the athletic director will receive annual 3% salary increases under the terms of a four-year contract approved by the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education.

The Princeton Administrators’ Association Inc. new contract took effect July 1. It expires June 30, 2028. It covers the next four school years, beginning with the 2024-25 school year and ending with the 2027-28 school year.

Princeton High School Principal Cecilia Birge will earn $172,950 for the 2024-25 school year, and $189,709 in the final year of the contract in the 2027-28 school year.

Princeton Middle School Principal Jason Burr will be paid $203,758 for 2024-25. He will earn $223,281 in the final year of the contract.

Community Park School Principal Dineen Gruchacz will earn $192,769 in the 2024-25 school year, and $211,180 in the 2027-28 school year.

Johnson Park School Principal Christopher Sheridan will be paid $146,000 in the first year of the contract. He was recently appointed to the principal’s post. His salary for the 2027-28 school year was not available in the contract, which was approved before he was hired.

At the Littlebrook School, Principal Luis Ramirez will be paid $170,445 in the 2024-25 school year. He will earn $186,972 in the last year of the contract.

Riverside School Principal Max Achtau will earn $151,380 in the 2024-25 school year, and $165,417 in the 2027-28 school year.

The contract also sets out the salaries for the assistant principals, and the supervisors of science, math and business, special education and health/physical education/athletic director.

The supervisors for the visual and performing arts; school counseling and wellness; elementary education; humanities; and world language/English as a Second Language (ESL) and Dual Language Immersion (DLI) also are included.

In addition to their salaries, members of the Princeton Administrators’ Association will receive longevity pay that begins with their fifth year of employment.

Longevity pay starts at $3,000 for those who have worked from five to nine years in the school district. It tops out at $7,800 for 35 or more years of service.

The contract allows for the children of non-resident members of the association to attend the Princeton Public Schools on a tuition basis.

The tuition ranges from $3,500 for those who were hired before July 1, 2020 to $5,000 for those who were hired during the 2020-21 school year. Members who began work on July 1, 2021 will pay $7,500 for their children.
