Hightstown man charged with burglary

A 28-year-old Hightstown man was charged with burglary and criminal mischief for allegedly kicking in a door at an apartment on Abbington Drive at 4:23 a.m. July 21, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

A police officer responded to the apartment for a burglary in progress, but the man left the scene before the officer arrived.

The man was located a short distance away and placed under arrest, police said. He was processed and released.
