A 63-year-old Somerset man was charged with shoplifting, obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to Walmart for a shoplifter July 30, according to the East Windsor Police Department.
The store’s loss prevention personnel told police that the suspect had allegedly shoplifted cans of baby formula on July 26. A police officer found the suspect in the store. He allegedly provided false information to the officer when he was questioned, police said.
He was positively identified and was also found to have an active warrant from the New Jersey State Police. He was charged on a complaint summons and turned over to the New Jersey State Police.
