Wrong-way driver charged with driving under the influence

A Hope Township woman is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence after she was allegedly driving the wrong way on Trenton-Harbourton Road, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

Police were sent to investigate a report of a driver traveling in the wrong lane on Trenton-Harbourton Road near Woosamonsa Road at 8:26 p.m. Aug. 29.

A police officer saw the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The driver allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving, police said.

She was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance after she was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected heroin, police said.

She was processed and released.
